The aim of Ards and North Down Labour Market Partnership is to help improve employability outcomes and labour market conditions locally. The Labour Market Partnership is offering free training for employees in the Ards and North Down Borough Council area to support industry-related training.
Principles of Safeguarding and protecting Children, Young People and vulnerable Adults
The course promotes awareness and sensitivity to safeguarding and protecting children, young people and vulnerable adults. Safeguarding is how we can protect children, young people or vulnerable adults from abuse or neglect we need to learn how to identify vulnerable individuals and take necessary steps to stop abuse and neglect.
The course is designed for all persons to give them the tools and knowledge to make a difference to a vulnerable person’s life. It will also let the practitioner reporting the abuse know how they can safeguard themselves in every day work while seeking help and reporting the incident identified.
A range of subjects is covered including:
- Safeguarding legislation and guidance
- Indicators of abuse
- Making judgements
- Communication
- Roles and responsibilities
- Sharing of information
- Dealing with and reporting of allegations and complaints
- Assessment and marking
Certification
Learners will be awarded an Ofqual regulated qualification
**Please note, delegates are required to bring photo ID to attend the course as this is a stipulation from the awarding organisation.
Places are limited so early booking is recommended.
If you cannot attend, you must notify us at least 48 hours in advance. Cancellations within 48 hours and no shows will incur a cancellation charge.
It is entirely at the Council’s discretion to accept registrations. Registrations from companies outside the Borough may be considered in exceptional circumstances and at the entire discretion of the council.
